New Start
Why start over when not even the first project is finished? If you want to implement a game as a lone developer, it’s a big step. You can’t underestimate the project. I was already aware at the time that it would take a lot of time to implement something like this. Nevertheless, in the past, everyday life prevailed, which you can’t simply ignore.
In my opinion, I can now make a new start. Why?
What happend
Privately, of course, a lot has happened. Even if it has not become much calmer, it is now more manageable.
Admittedly, I actually wrote off my project and mentally hung it up on the nail. Later, however, I realized that the desire in me to make a game was growing louder again.
Again a bit late I developed a new idea for the game, which once again felt more coherent.
Kickoff | Google Developer Account
For me the final starting signal for the development of the game was that I finally created a developer account at Google. In principle this is nothing difficult, but I didn’t find any other way to pay the developer fee than via a credit card. I always tried to transfer the money via PayPal, but that didn’t work. I also didn’t get anywhere via Google support.
At some point I paid the fee via credit card and had to identify myself afterwards (my ID was only valid for a few weeks at that point). Fortunately, I was already the next released by Google.
Documentation
From now on I’m busy revising and adapting my notes for the new game. Most importantly, I’m sticking to my defaults. The main guideline is, no matter which 3D objects I create, they should have representative character and also keep it for now. So far, partly unnoticed, I have always put a lot of detail work into the objects and that stopped.
Now I make a door with two rectangles and ready. Then off to UE. In a blueprint that quickly becomes an object I can place in the level and in the meantime the door opens and after a short wait also closes. Off to the next section.
That’s how it continues.
